ENGLISH ALPHABET
The English language has 26 alphabets. It starts with Aa and ends with Zz. They can be written in both capital (upper case) and small letters (lower case).

Capital letters and small letters have their different unique uses in English language. Using them wrongly while writing leads to mechanical mistakes which reduce the quality of your writing. Mind the use of your letters while writing. Note where capital letters should be and use them appropriately same with small letters. Take a good note of the difference between capital and small letter, there are few that are written almost the same but the difference is obvious. Examples, Jj, Yy, Ww. 

USE OF CAPITAL LETTERS
1. To start sentences.
Examples,
i. He is a man I respect, all the time.
ii. The future is here.

2. To write abbreviation. Examples,
I. WHO
ii. UNICEF
iii. MMM
iv. WAI

3. To start proper nouns. Name of persons, place.
Examples,
i. Abraham Gold - name of a person
ii. Abuja- name of a place.

4. To start the names of months and weeks.
Examples,
i. January, May.
ii. Monday, Friday.

5. To write the important words of prose, drama, articles, journals title. You start the main words with capital letters and leave the prepositions in small  letters.
Examples,
i. The Gods are not to Blame
ii. So Long a Letter.

6. To write the first letters of your salutation and complimentary close in letters.
Examples,
i. Dear sir, Dear Tom - salutation.
ii. Yours faithfully, Yours sincerely - complimentary close.

7. To write the first letter of direct quotations. Examples
i. 'He is my best friend' my brother said
ii. 'Your are not expected to leave no stone unturned in preparation for your examination' the principal advised.

8. To write I in your write ups when referring to yourself. Examples,
i. I love the land.
ii. I will attend to you, when I am through.

9. To write title of a person.
Examples,
i. The Principal of Precious College
ii. The Ewi of Ado Ekiti.

10. To write the first letter of your seasons and holidays
Examples,
i. Winter, Summer
ii. Christmas, Easther holiday.
